Exploring a Bizarre Steam Game Trial: Controlling a Piece of Feces with the Goal to Find the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is in full swing, and players have found a variety of engaging independent titles. However, one is particularly notable for its quirky concept. Titled Unko Technica, this classic-feel platformer includes a hero that is literally a dung trying to navigate to a commode. In case you're wondering, "Unko" translates to "poop."

How you interact is simple: press a one button to leap. Throughout one hundred fifty challenges, battle boss fights and unlock a market to buy outfits for your poop character.

Plan your movements carefully, as a error requires starting over. Jump on floating orbs to hurl the poop upward, traverse fragile platforms, and interact with buttons to unlock hidden paths. Collect UN-KOINS for buying tougher stages where things gets crazy.

Visually, the demo boasts eye-catching environments and a killer soundtrack. The retro graphics of shifting basic polygons could recall gamers of classic titles like Earthbound.

Even though difficult to name previous releases where you control a piece of feces, gaming often featured toilet humor. For example, in Death Stranding, you can craft explosives from character waste. Titles such as Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved employ manure as soil enrichment. And of course, fecal references is present heavily in the role-playing game The Stick of Truth.

Despite its goofy premise, Unko Technica has already garnered notable recognition, like being named best at Bandai Namco's indie contest in 2023. A playable preview is ready at present on Steam, with the complete version set to launch on PC this November.
